In an era where newspapers are going under and the print media might seem like a anachronism, there are people like Claudette Riley and Katie Krull of the Springfield News-Leader here in Missouri who recognize the value and worth of quality local journalism. In that vein, they worked together to help form a union in the newsroom that would strive to ensure fair treatment, a livable wage and decent working conditions. The vote was unanimous in the newsroom, and today they tell their story. Please enjoy this conversation with two very respectable and unified members of our community.
